Terms of Service

Welcome to Hello ("the App"), a travel companion application operated by Homejourney Pte. Ltd. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), a company incorporated in Singapore. By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Company governing your use of the App and all related services, features, content, and functionality offered through the App.
1. Definitions
- "App"
- means the Hello mobile application, including all updates, upgrades, and modifications thereto, available on iOS and Android platforms.
- "Services"
- means all features, tools, and functionality provided through the App, including but not limited to trip management, expense tracking, expense splitting, and payment processing.
- "User" or "you"
- means any individual who creates an account, accesses, or uses the App.
- "Content"
- means any text, data, information, images, or other materials that are submitted, posted, or displayed through the App by Users or the Company.
- "Trip"
- means a travel event created within the App that may include itinerary details, member participants, shared expenses, and settlement records.
- "Expense Split"
- means the division of a shared expense among Trip participants as calculated by the App.
2. Account Registration
To use the App, you must register an account by providing your mobile phone number and completing the one-time password (OTP) verification process via SMS. You represent and warrant that the phone number you provide is your own and that you are authorised to use it.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. The Company shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this provision.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is harmful to other Users, the Company, or third parties.
3. Payment Terms
All payments made through the App are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), a third-party payment processor. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.
Prices are displayed in multiple currencies for your convenience. The currency conversion rates shown in the App are indicative and sourced from third-party exchange rate providers. The actual amount charged to your payment method may vary depending on your card issuer's exchange rate and any applicable foreign transaction fees.
All prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. The Company reserves the right to modify pricing at any time without prior notice. Price changes will not affect purchases that have already been completed.
4. Trip & Expense Features
The App provides trip management and expense tracking features designed to help you organise travel plans and track shared costs with fellow travellers. You acknowledge and agree to the following:
(a) Informational Purpose Only. The expense tracking, expense splitting, and settlement calculation features are provided for informational and organisational purposes only. They do not constitute financial advice, tax advice, accounting services, or any form of regulated financial service. You should consult qualified professionals for financial, tax, or legal matters.
(b) User Responsibility for Settlements. The App calculates suggested settlement amounts based on the expenses entered by trip members. The Company does not facilitate, process, or guarantee actual monetary transfers between Users. You are solely responsible for settling debts and obligations with other trip members outside of the App.
(c) Trip Sharing and Data Visibility. When you create or join a shared trip, certain information you provide — including your display name, expenses you add, and settlement records — will be visible to all members of that trip. You consent to sharing this information with other trip participants when you create a shared trip or join one via an invite code or link.
(d) Accuracy of Data. You are responsible for the accuracy of all expense data, amounts, categories, and descriptions you enter into the App. The Company is not liable for any disputes, losses, or damages arising from inaccurate or incomplete expense records entered by Users.
(e) Invite Codes. Trip invite codes and sharing links should be treated with care. You are responsible for sharing invite codes only with intended trip participants. The Company is not responsible for unauthorised access to your trip if you share your invite code publicly or with unintended recipients.
5. User Conduct
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the App in any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation, including but not limited to the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the App, the server on which the App is hosted, or any server, computer, or database connected to the App.
- Use the App to transmit, distribute, or store material that is fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy, or otherwise unlawful, including material harmful to children or that violates third-party rights.
- Use any automated system, including robots, spiders, scrapers, or similar technology, to access the App for any purpose without our express written permission.
- Engage in any conduct that restricts or inhibits any other User from using or enjoying the App, or which, as determined by us, may harm the Company or Users of the App.
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any products or services obtained through the App without the express written consent of the Company.
6. Intellectual Property
The App and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all software, code, designs, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, data compilations, and the arrangement thereof) are owned by the Company, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by Singapore and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on your personal mobile device strictly in accordance with these Terms.
By submitting, posting, or displaying Content through the App (including trip details, expense descriptions, and profile information), you grant the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, and display such Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the App and Services.
7. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.
We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore and other applicable data protection regulations. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
8. Disclaimers
THE APP AND ALL SERVICES, CONTENT, AND FUNCTIONALITY ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.
The Company does not warrant that: (a) the App will function uninterrupted, securely, or be available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the App is free of viruses or other harmful components; (d) the results of using the App will meet your requirements; or (e) currency exchange rates displayed in the App are accurate, current, or complete.
The expense tracking and splitting features provide calculations based on data entered by Users. The Company does not verify the accuracy of expense amounts, categories, or descriptions entered by Users and accepts no responsibility for errors in user-submitted data.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.
In no event shall the Company's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of or inability to use the App or Services exceed the amount you have paid to the Company through the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred Singapore Dollars (SGD 100), whichever is greater.
The limitations of liability set out in this section shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law in the applicable jurisdiction, including under the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach, termination, or invalidity thereof, shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide reasonable notice prior to any new terms taking effect, such as by posting a notice within the App or sending a notification to your registered phone number.
By continuing to access or use the App after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, in whole or in part, you must stop using the App and delete your account.
